Opportunities to bridge classroom study and real-world applications are essential and enhance the learning experience for students within the College of Humanities and Behavioral Sciences (CHBS). Learning experiences outside a traditional classroom setting provide exceptional opportunities for students to apply what they’ve learned in new and engaging contexts. Since these experiences must often be self-funded by the student, many are unable to participate. With this in mind, CHBS has established the Student Travel and Research Support Fund (STARS) to allow the college to relieve the financial burden for students and consequently increase the number of students who can benefit from these unique learning opportunities.
Please consider making your gift today to help this fund garner the most supporters during the #BuildTheHive challenge and unlock an additional $1,000 generously provided by the Radford University Foundation. Competition ends on June 11.
When you support the STARS Fund, you enable students to benefit from opportunities like presenting their research at conferences, experiencing eye-opening performances and engaging debates, or participating in experiential learning activities such as the Model United Nations in which students from participating schools have mock discussions representing various countries where they address current and relevant topics.
Gifts to the STARS Fund will help alleviate costs such as registration fees, transportation, lodging and meals for students and open the door of opportunity for more students to participate in these high-impact experiences.
