The Radford Women's Cross Country and Track & Field teams, led by Head Coach Sam Bradley and Executive Director Shelli Sayers, has a rich tradition at Radford University. After an abrupt cancellation to the 2020 season due to the pandemic, the team is eager to kick-off 2021 and make great strides in the Big South Tournament.
RECENT ACCOLADES
Women’s Cross Country
- The women’s program most recently placed second in the first meet of the season at the Big South Preview.
- Rachel Millirons took home first place for the Highlanders at the Big South Preview, pushing her 5k time up to fourth-best all-time.
- In the 2019 Big South Championships Radford placed fourth with Caitlin Apps placing the highest out of all the Highlanders at third and Rachel Millirons finishing just behind her at 13th.
- Caitlin Apps’ 3rd place finish was the highest spot out of any freshman in the Big South which garnered her Big South Freshman of the Year honors.
Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field
- In the 2019 outdoor season the Highlanders had two Big South champions in La’Tisha Chambers (200-Meter) and Taylor Tinsley (High Jump).
- In the 2018 indoor season Radford had a Big South champion in Karryngton Harrison (60-meter hurdles)
- Between 2018-20 the Highlanders all-academic winner was La’Tisha Chambers for three years straight
- At the indoor Big South Championships in 2020, Radford placed in multiple final events and had one podium finish in La’Tisha Chambers’ 3rd place finish in the 200-meter.
